Why it is important to map room types and rate plans

Make the following mappings so that the data about the availability, prices and restrictions can be correctly delivered to the channels:

  • rates plans;

  • room types;

  • accommodation types created in the channel extranet as well as in your TravelLine account.

What will happen if the mappings are not configured?

If the mappings are not configured, the updates will not be delivered to the channel. In this case the channels will display the last updated info. If you don't need some room types or rate plans to be offered to the guest, but they are displayed in the left column, you should delete them in the channel extranet.

Does deleting mappings affect the closing of the sales in the channel?

Deleting mappings doesn`t affect the opening or closing of the sales in the channel extranet.

If you delete the mappings, the updates won't be sent to the channel. The sales remain open, and the info that was last uploaded from TravelLine will be displayed in the channel.

Why might mappings be deleted?

If you delete a room type/rate plan or accommodation type in the channel extranet as well as in TravelLine, this will lead to the mappings deleting.

In such cases TravelLine captures the warning and puts it into the Activity log, and we send you a notification.

You may find the Activity log in the menu “Channel Manager” > “Channel updates”.

What will happen if you map the rate plans without prices?

If you map TravelLine rate plans without prices, the prices which were set in the channel extranet before making the mappings, will remain the same.

How to delete the prices uploaded from TravelLine?

It is impossible to delete the prices uploaded from TravelLine. If you need to do it, you should close the sales in the rate plan in TravelLine and map it with the channel rate plan where the prices are incorrect.

What will lead to the absence of mappings?

  • Reservation might not be delivered to the TravelLine Platform;

  • Reservation might be delivered under the wrong price;

  • Overbooking might happen;

  • Reservation might be delivered without taking into account the restrictions set.

The solution to these situations is to map all the room types, accommodation types and rate plans. In this case the updates will be sent to the channel and the bookings will be delivered to TravelLine correctly. Learn more on how to map rates and room types.
